The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) invites the public to attend two in-person open houses for the Kalispell-Whitefish US Highway 93 Access Plan.

The purpose of these events is to inform the community about access management options, explain the plan’s goals and objectives and offer opportunities for public feedback.

The Kalispell-Whitefish Access Plan will inform the development of access points, such as entrances or exits such as driveways or intersections, on the US 93 corridor connecting Kalispell and extending west of Whitefish. The access management plan will enhance safety and efficiency between Kalispell and Whitefish.

“We are holding these open house events to help the public understand what access management is, and what it means to them,” said Bob Vosen, MDT Missoula District Administrator. “The goal is to find a way to allow people to access US 93 safely while still meeting the needs of the traveling public through the region on the highway.”

All comments gathered during these open houses will help shape the direction of the plan.

The first open house is March 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Easthaven Baptist Church in Kalispell. The second open house opportunity is May 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Whitefish City Hall.
