100 Years Ago 

Word was received here this week that a boy and girl from Bonners Ferry have gotten married in Seattle. Miss Doris LaBrosse and Kenneth Megquier were married on January 7.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah LaBrosse and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Megquier. Both attended schools in Bonners Ferry. 

Wild joy was registered on the streets of Bonners Ferry last Friday night when a telephone message from Coeur d'Alene brought the cheerful news that the local high school basketball team had defeated the high school team of the lake city on their home floor. It clinched Bonners Ferry's appearance in the district tournament. 

Grover C. Hubble, manager of the Bonners Ferry water and light systems, and C.W. King, editor of the Herald, returned home last Friday morning from a five-week trip to the eastern cities in the interests of the Hubble Voltage Control Company.  


50 Years Ago 

Kindergarten possibilities are out for this year, according to the school board. 

The city received a state grant of $2,292 for work done at the fairgrounds. 

Bonners Ferry is now going great at the state basketball A-2 tournament. 

Valley View Blue Devils win Legion Tourney crown. 


15 Years Ago 

Safeway has purchased Boundary Trading Co. 

BFHS "Alpha+" wins first place at the Oregon Pacific Regional Robotic Competition. 

Former mayor, Darrell Kerby, has been sworn in to complete the balance of legislative session for Sen. Shawn Keough. 

A man taking his daily walk on Upper Pack River Road came across an old hand grenade. 

BFHS head basketball coach Gordon Allured steps down for health reasons.
