Law enforcement logs for March 7, 2025

The reports below were provided by the sheriff’s office or police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Ephrata PD 

Feb. 27 

Report of collision on C Street and Fourth Avenue Southwest. Vehicle two was stopped at a stop sign and vehicle one collided into the rear of vehicle two. 

Feb. 28 

Report of check fraud. Unknown suspect used forged checks with victims' banking information. Victims bank caught the check before any money was lost. Recipients for the checks are numerous individuals in multiple states.  

Report of domestic at superior court. Reporting party said juvenile was upset and punched a wall. All subjects calmed down and left without incident.  

Report of graffiti occurring sometime in the past couple of nights. 

Report of dogs barking in the 400 block of Seventh Avenue Southeast. Upon police arrival, one dog was sleeping and the other was looking at the officer and smiling. 

March 1 

Report of traffic violation. Subject was walking in the middle of the road because he wanted to be seen by drivers after leaving the bar. Subject was informed it is a crime to block traffic and told to stay on the sidewalk. Suspect understood and walked home. 

Report of damage complaint in 1200 block of Yakima Street Southeast. Reporting party said when he returned from vacation the house was a disgusting mess. Upon police arrival they confirmed the house was a disgusting mess. Reporting party showed some drug paraphernalia. It was collected for disposal.  

Report of suspect attempting to open car door with multiple witnesses. Found suspect to have two felony warrants in Montana. Suspect arrested for disorderly prior to confirming warrants. 

Report of car getting shot with paintball gun. Reporting party would like to press charges. Reporting party to gather video and provide it. As of now, no suspects and no vehicle information. 

Report of police turning behind car with expired plate. Vehicle located on C Street Southwest. Vehicle stopped and subject found to be driving with license suspended. Subject given violation for expired registration and cited for third-degree driving with license suspended.  

March 3 

Report of theft of a motor vehicle at Ephrata School District. Reporting party said her vehicle was stolen from her job. Vehicle was located. Male suspect booked without incident.  

Report of arrest on A Street Southeast. Female suspect contacted with code 8 material witness warrant. Warrant confirmed. Female suspect arrest and booked on warrant without incident.  

Report of damage at Ephrata High School. Reporting party noticed on the front passenger side of vehicle scratches spelled out 554EE. Reporting party was not aware what that means.  

Report of traffic collision in 1200 block of Basin Street Southwest. Reporting party said there was a non-injury hit and run collision in the parking lot. Collision caused reportable damage.  

March 4 

Report of suspicious activity in 200 block of E Street Northeast. Reporting party said unknown suspects may have opened the door to her apartment. She asked for extra patrols. 

March 5 

Report of lost wooden dagger. Reporting party said he dropped it somewhere in town. If found, would like call. The dagger is small, wooden and black and silver duct tape for handle. 

Report of traffic violation. Three vehicle parked illegally in front of shop.  

Moses Lake PD 

March 1 

Report of fake money left near entrance of city hall. Police took the money and destroyed it. Money was monopoly money.  

Report of storage unit entered and three wood boxes of vintage sterling silverware valued at around $2,000 taken from the unit. Reporting party said lock appeared to have been picked and was locked back in the open position. Reporting party unsure if other items were taken during entry. 

Report of neighbor dog on South Wallace Street jumping over several fences and getting into neighboring yards. 

Report of on-going civil issue. Victim said she was assaulted by suspect and requested trespassing. Suspect was trespassed.  

Report of physical domestic violence. Suspect booked into jail for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence. 

Report of subject smoking marijuana with his garage door open on West Junco Street. Nothing further. 

Report of vehicles colliding in car wash on North Stratford Road. Vehicle one pushed on the brake causing vehicle two to slide into vehicle one causing minimal damage. Vehicle one left the scene after completing the car wash. The business called to report the incident. 

Report of traffic collision on West Broadway Avenue. Vehicle leaving parking lot collided with vehicle heading westbound. No injuries reported. One vehicle towed from scene.  

Report of vehicle stopped for suspicion of DUI on East Broadway Avenue. Driver arrested for DUI. 

March 2 

Reporting party said she heard a gunshot around South Lakeland Drive. Police arrived and found no evidence.  

Report of fight at bar on East Broadway Avenue. Upon police arrival, subjects were gone. Bar did not want to pursue charges.  

Report of domestic occurring on West Texas Street. Reporting party was outside and provided more information. Police received no answer at the door but could see males inside the residence. Entry was made and one subject arrested for obstruction. 

Report of road rage incident. The reporting party made a right hand turn on Monroe Street and the aggressor vehicle hit his rear bumper causing it to fall off the vehicle. The suspect fled towards and unknown direction.  

Report of individual at an abandoned residence loading up items into vehicle on North Crestview Drive. Police responded and contacted the vehicle. The residence appeared to be abandoned and had unsecure door. Two female ran out of the residence and contacted. One female arrested and transported to Grant County Jail. 

Report of vehicle accident in parking lot on East 3rd Avenue. The victim was entering her vehicle when a truck that was in front of her backed up and hit her drivers door pinning her against the vehicle. Reporting party declined medical treatment and said she would self transport for medical evaluation. 

Report of dogs running around and chasing cats on North Pennsylvania Street.  

Report of male subject stealing reporting party’s bike at knife point on North Stratford Road. Police able to retrieve bike and locate possible suspects. 

Report of male and female suspect stealing items from business on East Broadway Avenue. Suspects are unknown at this time.  

March 3 

Report of suspect in the middle of road banding on the ground. When police approached suspect started to run and hit a parked vehicle. Police detained suspect and had Moses Lake Fire Department transport suspect ot Samaritan.  

Report of domestic on East Broadway Avenue. Victim provided with New Hope form. 

Report of MLPD helping Moses Lake Fire Department while they dealt with a vehicle fire on the roadway on West Marina Drive. 

Report of unknown male suspect entering and selecting a can of gas and leaving without paying at business on West Broadway Avenue. 

Report of unknown male suspect entering and taking a 12-volt car battery and leaving without paying at business on West Broadway Avenue. 

Report of two year old male playing on playground complex by himself on East Craig Street. Mom contacted and she was sleeping. Police took custody of child. Child Protective Services notified. 

Report of ex-boyfriend breaking into reporting party’s residence on Grape Drive Northeast. Police responded and report to follow. 

Report of two vehicle collision in parking lot on North Stratford Road. Vehicle two was parked when vehicle one pulled in behind. Vehicle one then went to the passenger side of vehicle two and struck the rear passenger side causing damage. Drive of vehicle one stopped at different location.  

Report of package stolen Friday at apartments on North Grape Drive. Ring doorbell footage to be sent to help identify suspect. 

Report of two different establishments in Moses Lake selling alcohol to juveniles. Cannabis and Liquor Board were notified.  

Report of tire on reporting party’s truck cut in the tread ruining the tire on West Peninsula Drive. 

Report of traffic collision at the intersection of Stratford Road and State Route 17. Vehicle one did not grant right of way and attempted to cross causing the collision to occur. 

Report of suspect taking multiple items and not paying at business on North Stratford Road. Items taken were about $537. Reporting party sent video. Suspect was identified. 

Report of students involved in fight in the commons area of Moses Lake High School. Students disciplined per school policy. 

Report of traffic collision at the intersection of Stratford Road and State Route 17. Driver one was making left hand turn onto Stratford. Vehicle two traveling northbound on Stratford Road. Vehicle one did not yield to vehicle two causing the collision. No injuries reported. No towing from scene. 

Report of fraudulent transaction at business on South Pioneer Way. 

Report of vehicle pulling behind reporting party that had flashing lights and old fire engine horn. Reporting party said she knows police lights and sirens so she did not stop. Vehicle contacted at residence. Report to follow. 

Report of theft at business on North Stratford Road. Two male suspect suspected of stealing left in vehicle. Went to another business, got into a different vehicle and fled the scene.  

Report of a one-month-old baby being eaten by a dog. Police believe the report was made as a prank and unable to investigate further with limited information.  

March 4 

Report of assist with domestic on Castle Drive. 

Report of female causing disturbance at the gas station on West Broadway Avenue. Suspect trespassed.  

Report of suspect eating donut and then entering restroom of establishment for about 20 minutes on West Broadway Avenue. The reporting party requested officers contact the suspect and trespass them from the store. The suspect was known and found to have obstructed a law enforcement officer and a Department of Corrections warrant for her arrest. While officers were searching the suspect, she assaulted officers. The suspect was transported to Spokane County Jail. Officers will file charges for third-degree assault – LEO.
