SANDPOINT — During a March 5 Sandpoint City Council meeting, residents, family members and city staff and officials celebrated the promotions of three Sandpoint Fire personnel from probation to full-fledged firefighter.
Connor Nelson and Stephen Omodt became full-time firefighters in the ceremony, and Carson Nicholas was promoted to the level of engineer.
“It's a pretty special event. A pretty big milestone in a young firefighter's career is to get promoted off of probation,” Sandpoint Fire Chief Gavin Gilcrease said during the ceremony. “They've worked very hard for it, and they've earned it every step of the way.”
