BLANCHARD — A man from Blanchard is set to be arraigned today, March 11, in connection to an alleged aggravated assault earlier this year at a convenience store in Blanchard.

Milton HL Heins, 59, was arrested Jan. 21 and held on $20,000 bond before posting bail. Heins is being charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor inattentive or careless driving, misdemeanor failure to stop for damage accident and misdemeanor reckless driving.

According to court documents, the victim was driving northbound on Highway 41 when Heins allegedly started to tailgate him. After Heins passed the victim, court records indicate, he allegedly tried to “brake check” the victim several times and drive at a slower pace.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim allegedly then passed Heins and pulled into a gas station. Heins allegedly followed the victim by pulling into the gas station. It is reported that Heins then got out of his vehicle. At the time, court documents reported that Heins allegedly forgot to put his truck in park causing it to hit the victim's vehicle.

Milton and the victim allegedly got into a verbal altercation, which prompted the victim to reach for his phone to call 911. According to court documents, Milton then allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and claimed he was going to shoot him.

According to court documents, Milton fled the gas station after the victim proceeded to call emergency responders.

If guilty of the felony charge, Milton could face up to five years in jail and/or a fine of $5,000. If guilty of the misdemeanor charges, Milton could face up to 360 days in jail, a $900 fine and potentially have his license revoked.
