Connie A. Broderick of Dixon, Ill., and formerly of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, passed away peacefully at Morningside of Sterling on March 13, 2025, at the age of 85.
She was born April 14,1939 in Nachusa, Ill., the daughter of Jess and Fellipa (Moya) Melendrez. Connie was married to Thomas R. Broderick for 58 wonderful years. He preceded her in death Feb. 24, 2021.
Connie attended Newman High school in Sterling, Ill. She spent many years being a hostess at Parkway and the Brandywine Restaurant.
They loved snowmobiling with their friends. She was a member of the Dixon Elks Club and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. They moved to Bonners Ferry, in 2000. She belonged to Well Armed Women and was a pretty good shot. She loved working in the polls at election time, attending the annual Wine Walk and musical and theater events in Spokane. She loved decorating her beautiful home to entertain many friends at Christmas and New Years. She enjoyed the car shows and parades that showed off their beautiful antique cars.
Connie is survived by her sister-in-law, Elsa Dietz of Princeton, Ill.; many nieces and nephews; and very special friends Brad and Ann Apple of Dixon, Ill., and David and Jenny Erickson of Bonners Ferry.
She is also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary Steele, Phillip Melendrez, Alice Rodriguez, Joe Melendres, Julia Klostermann, Helen Clayton, Jesse Melendrez, Ben Melendrez, Steve Melendrez, Dolly Biggerstaff and Donnie Melendrez.
Rest in peace, Connie; you will be missed.
Visitation will begin Monday, March 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. with funeral services to follow beginning at 11 a.m. at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy, Ill.
