With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Lamoreaux, 76, of Bigfork. Ron was born to Ervin and Irene Lamoreaux in Minnesota, but at a young age the family moved to the Flathead Valley.

He graduated from Columbia Falls High in 1967 where he met Vicki whom he married a few years later. A year later they welcomed a son, Jeff, and a few years later a daughter, Tamara. Ron worked at Plum Creek from high school all the way to retirement. Ron and Vicki enjoyed raising their family, followed by years of snow-birding until Vicki passed away in 2013. The next year he also lost his daughter.

Ron began dating lifelong friend, Karen Kessinger, who had lost her husband, John. They really helped each other cope with loss and were great companions. They enjoyed travel and spending time with family. Tragedy struck in 2019 when a great-grandchild, Carter, passed away and again in 2021 when Karen passed.

Throughout the loss, Ron also faced mounting health issues. He battled through with his can-do attitude. Ron had a great memory and remembered everyone by name. He loved spending time with people.

Ron is survived by his sister Jolayne and her husband Graham, sister Michelle “Mickey,” numerous nieces and nephews; his son, Jeffrey and wife Heather; his grandchildren, Shawn and wife Megan, Seonna and husband Josh, Samantha, and Kaleb and Ayden as well as four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held this summer on a sunny day at the lake. Darlington Funeral Home is caring for the family.
