Due to the ever-increasing lunchtime food deliveries, we will be able to add an additional route, which should take about 45 minutes. Each route will have about 12 stops. Call for further details about being a volunteer driver. We need your help, please!

The Vernal (Spring) Equinox (equal amounts of daylight and darkness) is on March 20. It will continue to snow. Sunshine limited.

Taxi service is available for Polson-area seniors in need of assistance. We drive to local businesses, health offices, or care facilities. Reservations highly recommended; cost is $5 round trip.

A certified nurse offers a toenail clinic Friday, March 28. The fee is $30 and the service is limited to eight or so people. Sign up or walk -in.

Free AARP tax preparation assistance is available Mondays and Thursdays through mid-April. Call us to make an appointment.

AARP also offers a Safe Driver Course from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. March 25. Call the senior center for sign up. Class size is limited to 20; the $25 fee includes a study guide for further reference. Save on car insurance! No testing.

Bowling “no-tap” is Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. Join any time.

Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (move it or lose it!); Bingo at 6 p.m. Fridays, with playing card bingo on the first Wednesday of each month.

Pinochle is now offered two days a week: 12:15-3 p.m. Mondays or Thursdays; and the pool table is open for play 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.

Invite a foursome for Wednesday Play Day to play cards, board games, dominos, Mah-Jong, etc.

A veteran’s service officer visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.

Sit-down meals are available from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays, and delivered to qualified people who call before 10 a.m. A suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program.

Upcoming main dishes include turkey pot pie, March 20; chicken and ham wraps, March 21; tomato soup and cheesy bread, March 24; BBQ pork sandwich, March 25; beef stew, March 26; Coney Island-style hot dogs, March 27; and Birthday Dinner for Lunch, featuring roast turkey and all the fixings.

Our community center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 Third Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
