COLLEGE WRESTLING: Lovett moves on NCAA quarterfinals

PHILADELPHIA — Nebraska senior Ridge Lovett advanced to today’s quarterfinal round of the NCAA wrestling championships with a 15-0 technical fall win over Ty Whalen of Princeton at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday. 

Lovett, who finished his Post Falls High career 169-0, will face Kannon Webster of Illinois in the quarterfinal round today. Lovett beat Webster 1-0 in the Big Ten Championships on March 9 in Evanston, Ill. 

Lovett, who was runner-up in 2022 and sixth in 2024, beat Sam Cartella of Northwestern 10-8 in the opening round.

The quarterfinals begin today at 9 a.m. (ESPNU), with the semifinal round at 5 p.m. (ESPN2).
