The 2025 St. Regis track and field team is small in numbers but has some promising returning talent from last season that bodes well for the Tigers and Lady Tigers.

Heading the list of tracksters who came out for this year’s team is junior Jamie Cleveland, a multi-event standout who qualified for the Western C divisional tournament in four event last season after sitting out the 2023 season while recovering from a serious knee injury. 

Cleveland qualified in the girls’ 100-, 200- and 400-meter sprints, as well as the long jump at last year’s Divisional meet. 

Coach Jesse Allan also has a pair of senior boys back from last year’s team, led by multiple sports standout Hunter Stolla, who was a Western division qualifier in the javelin in 2024, and Leevy Bush, who advanced to the division tournament with a qualifying time in the 800-meter run. 

St. Regis is also hoping promising eighth graders Tucker Desoto, Chet Hill and Chile Mitchell can contribute to the team’s fortunes this season. 

Despite the low turnout numbers this year, coach Allan is optimistic this group of hard workers will help the Tigers and Lady Tigers this season. 

“I think this year’s team has some valuable experience from previous seasons and has worked hard in the weight room since last year,” Allan said. “I am confident they will all reach PRs (personal records) weekly and continue to work toward qualifying for both the Divisional and State meets”. 

Allan credited assistant coach Russ Cleveland for improving the overall strength and fitness of St. Regis athletes. 

“Russ brought a solid strength and fitness approach to last year’s team, and I think another year of this will certainly continue to help our student athletes”, Allan said. 

St. Regis is scheduled to open their track and field season this Saturday (Mar 29) at the Frenchtown Invitational.
