COLLEGE GOLF: Cardinal men's B takes second at Warrior invite

LEWISTON — Florian Riedel, a freshman from Norderstedt, Germany, shot a 212 to finish tied for third for the North Idaho College (B) team, which finished runner-up in the Warrior Spring Invitational on Tuesday at Lewiston Golf and Country Club. 

The Cardinal ‘B’ team finished with a three-round total of 299-283-301—883. The North Idaho ‘A’ team shot a 287-305-301—893 to finish fifth in the eight-team tournament. 

Spokane Colleges freshman Seth Swallows, the former St. Maries High star, finished 20th with a 75-73-78—226. 

Alex Navarro shot a 12-under Par 216 for the Lewis-Clark men to earn medalist honors, leading the Warriors to the team title. 

Giulia Belfontali was women’s medalist with a 148 for Lewis-Clark State, which claimed the women’s team title with a 626. 

The North Idaho College men’s golf team returns to action at the Chambers Bay Invitational starting next Monday. 

The Cardinal women return to action at the Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz., April 2-3.
