Jerad Paul Wilhelmsen, born Feb. 29, 1988, in Jackson Hole, Wyo., left us far too soon March 18, 2025. His leap-day birthday made him unique from the very start, and that uniqueness continued throughout his life.

He spent his early years in Wyoming before moving to Thompson Falls, Montana, with his mother, biological father and older brother Trenton Wilhelmsen. Later, Jerad moved with his mother, Darla, and his stepfather, Randy Stone, to Sandpoint, Idaho, where he continued to grow into the kind-hearted and adventurous spirit that everyone came to know and love.

Jerad enjoyed the outdoors with his brothers, Trenton Wilhelmsen and Oliver Stone, whether fishing, hunting or exploring the beauty of nature. It was in the wide-open spaces of Montana on his family ranch and the ski hills and hunting grounds of Idaho where Jerad truly flourished. The outdoors was his playground, and he thrived as an avid fisherman and hunter, embracing the freedom and beauty of nature.

Jerad was a free spirit — kind-hearted, genuine and a country boy through and through. He was the kind of person who made friends wherever he went, his infectious goofiness and warm heart drawing people to him. He could light up a room with his laughter, and his sincerity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Jerad was hardworking and dedicated, always making those around him feel valued and cared for. His presence was a gift to his family, bringing joy, comfort and love to all who knew him. Jerad’s laughter and kind spirit were a constant source of joy, and his memory will live on in the stories shared around family gatherings, in quiet moments of reflection, and in the ways he touched the lives of everyone he met. His legacy of kindness, humor, and love will continue to guide his family and friends in the years to come.

Jerad leaves behind his loving mother, Darla Wilhelmsen; his loving father, Randy Stone; his biological father, Dennis Wilhelmsen; his brothers, Trenton Wilhelmsen and Oliver Stone; his grandmother, Donna Wilhelmsen; his niece, Piper Stone; and his uncle, Glen Wilhelmsen, who will all carry his memory forward.

Jerad will always be remembered as a cherished son, brother, and friend — someone who left a lasting mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was loved deeply, and his spirit will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

A public viewing will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Coffelt Funeral Services, 109 N. Division Ave., Sandpoint, ID 83864, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
