Eileen (Madson) Hurd Kimber celebrates 100th birthday

Eileen (Madson) Hurd Kimber is celebrating her 100th birthday. She was born on April 9, 1925, in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, in Canada, the first child of Ilmer and Zylpha Madson.
The family moved to Bonners Ferry in 1932 and lived on the north side. In the fall of 1934, they moved to the farm in Paradise Valley. Eileen and her sisters went to the Paradise Valley School, located just across the field, before going to Bonners Ferry High School where she graduated in 1944. She then moved to Spokane, where she worked in the accounting department of Interstate Phone Company until she married Ken Hurd of Wasilla, Alaska, in 1951.
The couple lived in Wasilla until 1975 when they moved back to Bonners Ferry. Ken died in 1996.
Eileen married Don Kimber in October 1999. They moved to Sequim, Washington, in 2002 and Don died in 2010.
She moved back to Bonners Ferry in 2018 and has lived in Paradise Valley since. Her family is hosting her 100th birthday party on March 29 at 1 p.m. at the Paradise Valley Grange. The family invites all of her friends and relatives are invited to join her for birthday cake and a light lunch.
