If you can't complain about the weather, you could complain about politics. Neither will get you much results. If you want to enjoy April Fool's Day just look at Congress.

The TV is showing mostly basketball tournaments, so I am rediscovering reading and enjoying it. Speaking of reading, the Polson Library Community Room is sponsoring a demonstration of new resources that support the aging journey and is dementia friendly at 10:20 a.m. April 9. It's presented by Lucynt.

Due to the ever-increasing lunchtime food deliveries, we will be able to add an additional route, which should take about 45 minutes. Each route will have about 12 stops. Call for further details about being a volunteer driver. We need your help, please!

Taxi service is available for Polson-area seniors in need of assistance. We drive to local businesses, health offices, or care facilities. Reservations highly recommended; cost is $5 round trip.

A certified nurse offers a toenail clinic Friday, March 28. The fee is $30, and the service is limited to eight or so people. Sign up or walk in.

Free AARP tax preparation assistance is available Mondays and Thursdays through mid-April. Call us to make an appointment.

Bowling “no-tap” is Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. Join any time.

Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (move it or lose it!); Bingo at 6 p.m. Fridays, with playing card bingo on the first Wednesday of each month.

Pinochle is offered two days a week: 12:15-3 p.m. Mondays or Thursdays; and the pool table is open for play 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.

Invite a foursome for Wednesday Play Day to play cards, board games, dominos, Mah-Jong, etc.

A veteran’s service officer visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.

Sit-down meals are available from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays, and delivered to qualified people who call before 10 a.m. A suggested donation of $5 helps supports the nutrition program.

Upcoming main dishes include Coney Island style hot dog, March 27; Birthday dinner for lunch featuring roast turkey with all the fixings, March 28; soup with butter beans and ham, March 31; Goulash, April 1 (beware of tomfoolery!); sweet and sour chicken, April 2; pork chops April 3; and oven omelet with sausage, April 4.

Our community center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 Third Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
