POST FALLS — Marked with a ribbon cutting to "unlock the savings," Grocery Outlet at Poleline Avenue and Highway 41 opened its doors Thursday morning.

“I’m happy it’s here,” said Beau Miller of Coeur d’Alene. “There’s lots of good stuff here that you can’t find anywhere else.”

Miller and his son purchased a Raiders throw blanket. They were among hundreds of shoppers who packed the new Grocery Outlet location, which carries discount grocery items as well as home goods, pet supplies and seasonal decor.

“Post Falls needs more options,” said resident Kaity Ferris. “This is a great start.”

"I think it's going to do really well," said Washington resident Aubree Cherry.

The Grocery Outlet chain has over 500 stores across the country, the closest neighbor to the Post Falls store being the Coeur d’Alene location on Neider Avenue.

Each store is independently owned and operated; longtime locals Steve and Sarena Mayer own both locations.

“We’re just so happy to continue to serve the community and be a part of it,” Sarena Mayer said.

The couple also donated $1,000 to TAILS Foundation Inc. as part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Grocery Outlet anchors the new North Point Plaza along Highway 41. 7-Eleven also opened its doors this month, and there are five remaining parcels.

Several community leaders attended the opening.

“May your aisles always be full, and your customers smiling,” said Post Falls Area Chamber President and CEO Christina Petit.

Grocery Outlet is open daily at 2588 N. Highway 41, Post Falls.

Steve and Sarena Mayer presented a check for $1,000 to Post Falls-based TAILS Foundation, Inc. during Thursday morning's ribbon cutting ceremony for Grocery Outlet.
