SANDPOINT — City staff are seeking submissions for the Silver Box Project — an initiative to display a trio of sculptures in downtown Sandpoint this summer.

The successful candidates will each be compensated $1,000 and have their work displayed outdoors on a stainless-steel base for one year. Works must be submitted by 2 p.m. May 16.

For a sculpture to be eligible for the program, it must be an original work free of religious, sexual or political content.

The work should not have kinetic elements or water features, must be able to endure weather conditions including snow and ice, and must be able to be securely bolted onto a 16” x 16” x 1/4” powder coated steel attachment plate.

A complete application consists of a cover letter, a resume, examples of past work, images or videos of the art piece and a description of the art piece.

Sandpoint will receive and install the works no later than June 30, 2025, and remove them no sooner than June 30, 2026.

Submissions can be emailed to [email protected] or delivered to City Hall, 1123 Lake St., Sandpoint, ID 83864.
