ATHOL — A man from Athol is being held at the Bonner County Jail on charges related to several alleged burglary incidents.

Kevin Edwards, 36, was arrested April 22 for allegedly stealing an abundance of items from an Athol shop on more than one occasion.

Edwards is charged with two felony counts of burglary, both charges posing up to 10 years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine. He is currently held at the Bonner County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

County law enforcement became aware of the burglary in early March when the victim called 911 reporting a number of items missing from his shop. According to court documents, among the items were approximately $1,500 worth of wood trim, an assortment of construction materials, a compound bow, two kayaks, four fishing rods and fishing gear, ATV tracks and keys to a UTV.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim said he felt that Edwards may come back to steal more items due to the UTV keys being stolen but not the UTV itself. For precautionary measures, the victim set up three game cameras in his shop and stayed in the area overnight.

Court documents indicate Edwards was caught on camera stealing the UTV after the victim left the premise.

The UTV was eventually found on state property near where it was originally stolen. Other items were also found over the course of a month, however, according to court documents, not all items have been located.

Edwards is scheduled to appear in court May 13 for an arraignment, where he will be read the charges against him and asked to enter a plea. If convicted of both crimes, Edwards could potentially face up to 20 years in jail and a $100,000 fine.
