CrossFit CDA to host Greg Moore Memorial Workout on Saturday

COEUR d'ALENE — A Law Enforcement Appreciation Event and Memorial Workout in honor of Sgt. Greg Moore is set for 8 a.m. Saturday hosted by CrossFit CDA.

The K27 Hero WOD, or "workout of the day," will be open to the public and the workout will be free for law enforcement. No experience is necessary to participate and the workout can be modified for every ability level.

Moore, a Coeur d'Alene police officer, was on patrol in a residential neighborhood south of Prairie Avenue and near Atlas Road on May 5, 2015, when he was shot and killed by Jonathan Renfro. Renfro is serving a life prison sentence.

Also in honor of Moore, the Coeur d’Alene Police Department will have procession to the Sgt. Greg Moore Memorial at McEuen Park for a public ceremony.

The procession will begin at Forest Cemetery on Government Way and travel south to Northwest Boulevard. Vehicles will travel east on Sherman Avenue to Seventh Street, south on Seventh to Front Avenue and west on Front, stopping near Fourth Street.

The public is welcome to line the procession route.
