ENDORSEMENT: Vote for Lippert

Michelle Lippert has been on the Post Falls school board for 24 years. Her life’s work has been to help children and families and to further their intellectual and emotional well-being.

We have repeatedly seen what happens with often disastrous results when attempts are made to make every historically non-partisan office into partisan ones — from highway districts to school boards, library boards and the NIC Board. Repeatedly we have seen unqualified people elected simply because they agreed to sacrifice any independent judgment to vote the way the political partisans want them to.

As we all know the online world including various Facebook pages and websites is ugly and is full of lies and distortions. Please don’t believe all of the garbage on these websites that state among other lies that Michelle Lippert won’t protect children from pornography or emotional abuse. This lie is betrayed by who Michelle Lippert is and what she has done.

Look at how Michelle Lippert has lived her professional life advocating for children and education. Michelle Lippert will stand up for the rights of parents to determine what their children should read, not the ideologues and partisan bullies.

When in doubt about who to vote for as a library trustee or on any elected position look at someone’s life’s work. Michelle has been in the trenches year after year fighting for children and families. Compare Michelle Lippert’s impressive résumé with that of her opponent.
