Patricia 'Patty' Louise Hahn Rishsew, 89
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 months AGO
The world lost a true Angel, but heaven certainly gained one April 27, 2025. Patricia “Patty” Louise Hahn Rishsew was born May 10, 1935, in Lead, S.D., to William and Louise Hahn. She was raised in Wallace, Idaho, where she attended Our Lady of Lourdes Academy.
She later married Robert "Bob" Rishsew on Nov. 8, 1952, in Wallace, Idaho. They were married for 53 years and had seven children: Robert "Bobby" Reese Rishsew Jr., Bill (Kari) Rishsew of Post Falls, Idaho, Linda Auger of Mullan, Idaho, Julie (Larry) Letts of North Bingham, Pa., Mark Rishsew, Beth (Jeff) Elliott of Osburn, Idaho, and Jeanine Slatten of Pullman, Wash.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob; one brother, Bill Hahn; two sisters, Jeanine Rullman and Margie Becker; her two beloved sons, Bobby and Mark; three grandchildren and two sons-in-law. She leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, an abundance of wonderful friends whom she loved dearly and her beloved dog, Shemi, whom she loved with all her heart.
She led a very full life traveling the world with Bob during his career in the Army. With children in tow, she flew all over: Germany twice, France once (in fact, Mark was born in Paris), and all across the U.S., running into the likes of Elvis Presley and actor Brian Keith. Lucky girl!
Nursing was her passion. She graduated from NIC in 1985 at the age of 50. She was wonderful to all her patients and their families. Patty worked at the Silverton nursing home off and on for 22 years. After her retirement, she still took care of many elderly people, as it was very important to her that they have compassion and care later in life. She was hands-down the best, as stated by many she helped and cared for.
A celebration of Patty's life will take place Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Morning Club in Mullan, Idaho. A private family inurnment will be with her husband, Bob, in Mountain View Cemetery in Mullan, Idaho, at a later date. Donations in Patty's memory can be made to Meals on Wheels in Osburn, Idaho.
Memories of Patty and messages of condolence may be shared with her family online at www.shoshonefuneralservice.com. Shoshone Funeral Services, Kellogg, is assisting the Rishsew family with arrangements.
