Columbia Falls tennis continued its winning form on Friday, May 3, with an impressive outing against Libby.

The Wildcats took 11 of 14 matches, as the boys won 6-1 and the girls secured a 5-2 victory.

The Columbia Falls girls were dominant in doubles play, sweeping all three matches to clinch the team win. The tandems of Alanis Petersen and Aliyah Arends, Lucie Love and Madi Yerian, and Kristina Tamburelli with Khloe Perry all delivered strong performances. Petersen and Arends battled through three sets for a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win, while Love and Yerian cruised 6-1, 6-1.

In singles, Fiona Bryant and Campbell LaCasse picked up wins for the Wildkats. Bryant controlled her match for a 6-4, 6-2 victory, and LaCasse was steady throughout a 6-3, 6-0 win.

Though Bailey Windauer and Ella Heppner dropped their singles matches, Columbia Falls’ depth in doubles sealed the team result.

The boys team delivered a near sweep, winning three of four singles matches and all three doubles contests.

Bruno Vazquez bounced back from a first-set loss to take a 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 win over Erik Thompson, while Connor Zumalt and Brady Heitz both posted straight-set wins.

In doubles, the trio of Columbia Falls teams overcame early challenges to win all three matches in convincing fashion. Jax Ramage and Sol Masters rallied from a set down to win 3-6, 6-0, 6-4. Silas Ypma and William Oberholtzer followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory, and Jackson Scholz and Jackson Bowler capped the day with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
