Sept. 26, 1939 — April 25, 2025

Lois Wagner was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Potlatch, Idaho, to Baylor Allison Wagner and Marjorie Faye Enyeart-Wagner. In 1943, her family moved to North Spokane, where Lois spent her early years and later graduated from Rogers High School in 1956.

After high school, Lois married Edward Martin, and together they made their home in Hayden, Idaho, until their divorce. Lois remained in Hayden, where she lived in the same house for over 50 years. Throughout her life, Lois worked various jobs, but her true passion was caring for animals. She found her calling as a veterinary receptionist, a role she held with dedication and love for over 26 years. It was at the veterinary office that she met Kenneth Suhr, her companion with whom she shared 40 happy years.

Lois and Ken enjoyed a simple, beautiful life together on three acres in Hayden. They spent their days birdwatching, gardening and canning. Lois had a deep love for animals and was known for her open heart, never turning away a stray in need.

Lois is survived by her brother, Allison Charles Wagner, his wife, Myrtlee, and her cherished nieces. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and unwavering love for both people and animals. Lois's faith was a guiding light in her life, and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace and at home with the Lord.

A memorial service celebrating Lois's life will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rathdrum, Idaho, on May 15 at 10:30 a.m. All who knew and loved Lois are welcome to attend.
