'School of Rock' comes to Lake City Playhouse

The Lake City Playhouse production of "School of Rock" is lighting up the stage through May 18.
Based on the beloved 2003 film that stars Jack Black, this live musical that celebrates music, friendship and self-discovery is for audiences of all ages. It's a heartwarming tale of embracing individuality through music, as entertaining as it is inspiring.
Daniel Hunt plays Dewey Finn, the charismatic protagonist who inspires his students to embrace their musical talents. Jaxon Haynie showcases his guitar skills as Zach while Roya Moses rocks the bass guitar as Katie. Mason Brodin brings the rhythm as Freddy on drums and Casey Deere adds a melodic touch as Lawrence on piano. Eloise Peltekian takes on the role of band manager Summer, and Nyko Matthews shines as the powerful vocalist Tomika. Rounding out the cast is Liem, who portrays Billy. These "Rock" stars are joined by a wealth of local talent, both kids and adults, creating a vibrant ensemble that enhances the show’s energy.
"School of Rock" features a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, filled with rock classics and original compositions to uplift spirits and have audience members dancing in their seats.
