BUTTE — Columbia Falls got the bats going early at the Laverne Combo Invitational softball tournament Friday, banging out 15 hits in a 6-3 win over Havre to open play.

In their second game Friday, the Wildkats downed Lockwood 9-4.

In other tournament action, Ronan and Libby both won twice while Polson split a pair of games.

Columbia Falls 6, Havre 3

Addy Bowler had four hits for the Wildkats (14-6), including a triple that drove in three runs in the sixth inning. The game ended there because of the tournament time limit.

Sydney Burke three hits. Kylie Gjesdal-Davis, Tayler Lingle and Annika Reid all had two hits.

Ella Branstetter and Katie Bulawsky split time in the circle, with Bulawsky supplying two innings of scoreless relief with five strikeouts.

Columbia Falls 9, Lockwood 4

The game lasted just four innings because of the time limit, but that was enough time for Lingle to rap out three hits and score three times.

Onnika Lawrence had a double, a triple and two RBIs for the Kats, who had 12 hits total; Reid had two hits, including a double; Bella Mann had a double and drove in two.

Branstetter threw three innings for the Kats, allowing four hits, two walks and three runs. She fanned four. Bulawski gave up a run while fanning two in her one inning of work.

Libby 13, Miles City 2

Peyton Waggoner doubled, homered and drove in three runs for the Loggers, who led 9-0 in the fifth inning of a game that ended in the sixth.

Rachel Kosters had a double, a triple and three runs batted in as well. Kosters and Bently Houston each scored twice; Madison Vincent had three hits with two runs scored and two RBIs. Weslee MacDonald added a double and threw two innings of relief after Carmen Kohler started and struck out nine of the 10 batters she faced.

Libby 9, Glendive 3

The Loggers (8-9) rolled to another 9-0 lead in this one, getting three hits and three runs scored from Kosters and two hits and two RBIs from Waggoner. The game ended after five innings.

Vincent had two hits and scored twice; MacDonald had two hits and drove in a run. Hadleigh Wood, Teighler Parker and Jayva Boehmier also had RBIs.

Maddi Willis was in the circle for 3 2-3 innings, allowing four hits and no runs. She struck out one.

Ronan 6, Glendive 1

Neveah Perez’ three-run home run put the Maidens up 5-1 in the second inning, and they prevailed in five over the Red Devils.

Adrienne Crockett had two hits, a run scored and an RBI from the leadoff spot for Ronan; Hadassah Read also had two hits. Kailyn Marengo went all five innings in the circle, allowing three hits, two walks and one earned run with five strikeouts.

Ronan 14, Anaconda 2

This one lasted four innings because of time, with Alexa Youngren allowing three hits, a walk and one earned run in the circle. She fanned five.

Marengo had a double among two hits, with two runs and two RBIs; Shelby Taylor doubled, tripled and drove in three runs. Perez added a triple and she scored twice, as did Kanana Couture and Malory Marquez.

Polson 6, Laurel 3

Liz Cunningham hit an RBI single in Polson’s four-run first inning and added a two-run home run in the fifth, and the Lady Pirates held off Laurel for the win.

Samantha Rensvold doubled and Olivia Jore scored twice for Polson (14-5-1). Sierra Perez drove in two runs, and Opal Nash had two hits and an RBI.

Rensvold threw all seven innings, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out eight.

Florence 9, Polson 7

Cunningham tripled and drove in three runs for Polson, but the Lady Pirates couldn’t make up an early 7-1 deficit against Class B power Florence.

The game lasted five innings because of a time limit; Samantha Rensvold had two hits, including a double, and scored twice. Jaja Nichols also doubled and scored twice. Olivia Nash had two RBIs and Aaliyah Adams socked a double.

Rensvold threw four innings in the circle, allowing seven hits — including home runs to Falcons Jaden Fisher, Taylor Pyette and Ava Philbrick — a walk and two earned runs. She struck out five.

Florence later lost to Billings Central 10-9, dropping the Falcons to 19-1.
