SANDPOINT — A Bonner County resident was arrested late April in relation to a child abuse incident that allegedly occurred April 23 near Priest River.

Jordan Everette Gabor, 28, was arrested April 26 in Ogallala, Neb., before being surrendered and transferred to Bonner County. He is being held on a $2.5 million bond.

Gabor is alleged to be an accomplice of the child abuse incident involving Taleea R Martin, 27.

Gabor is facing one count of aggravated battery and one count of injury to child under 18, to-wit of one. If convicted, Gabor could face up to 25 years in jail and/or a $55,000 fine.

According to a criminal complaint, Gabor allegedly slammed a car door on the victim’s head, in addition to striking him numerous times with closed fists. Documents indicate that Gabor willfully caused a child to suffer “unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering.”

In a preliminary hearing for Taleea Martin, it was noted that Gabor appeared to be the main aggressor of the abuse.

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the case, most documents pertaining to both cases are sealed.

“Documents of materials contain highly intimate facts or statements, the publication of which would be highly objectionable to a reasonable person,” reads a motion to redact submitted by the court.

Both Gabor and Martin are expected to appear in court May 22 for a preliminary hearing.
