Vandal men's basketball announces signings of high schoolers Jenson, Jenkins
MOSCOW — Idaho men's basketball announced the signings of Will Jensen, a 6-8 big man from Caldera High in Bend, Ore., and Talon Jenkins, a 6-7 guard/forward from Meridian High in Bellingham, Wash.
"We believe that high schoolers are under-recruited right now," Idaho coach Alex Pribble said. "And if we can find young men with a combination of talent, untapped potential, and work ethic, we want to get them in Vandal uniforms."
Jenson holds multiple school records from his time in Bend, including most points scored in a game (33), most rebounds in a game (18), and most blocks in a game (5), and also holds the single-season records for these same categories.
"Will is not only very long and athletic, but he has a very solid skill set," Pribble said. "He is the son of a coach and he knows what it takes to work hard and develop. He has a great energy about him and we believe he will have a huge career here at Idaho."
Jenkins currently holds his school's record for most points scored in a quarter with 20, and averaged that many points per game in his prep career, alongside eight rebounds per game.
"Talon is another guy that has been around the game his whole life," Pribble said. "He knows what high-level college basketball is all about. It's rare to find a young man with his length, skill, and pure shooting ability. He's got a great work ethic and fits our culture. We can't wait to get the journey started with Talon."
Former Zag Nembhard earns NBA Combine invite
SPOKANE — Former Gonzaga point guard Ryan Nembhard earned an invitation to this week's NBA Combine following a strong performance in the G League Elite Camp over the weekend.
The 2025 NBA Combine will take place at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago this week.
Nembhard and four others were called up and join the 75 players who were invited to the Combine earlier this month. The four other Elite Camp participants to earn combine invitations were Penn State's Yanic Konan Niederhauser, Indiana's Mackenzie Mgbako, Missouri's Tamar Bates and Australia's Lachlan Olbrich.
Nembhard earned the invite after guiding his team to wins this past weekend at the G League Elite Camp held at Wintrust Bank Arena in Chicago, the same venue of the draft combine, which will take place over the next six days with height and weight measurements, agility and skills tests and scrimmages.
In his first game at the G League Elite Camp, Nembhard had nine assists, one turnover, six points and four rebounds in 20 minutes. The Canadian native followed with six more assists and 11 points in Game 2.
