The senior center fielder went 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, then earned the save with 1.1 innings of relief as the Vikings beat Lake City 6-5 to advance to the four-team 6A baseball State Championship Series. “He has been an absolute animal out there, roaming center field, and hitting 4-hole,” Coeur d’Alene coach Brandon Williams said. “And (vs. Lake City), I switched it up and put him in the leadoff spot. When you have a guy like Coey, with his size and his demeanor up there, it kind of puts a fear in that pitcher’s eyes sometimes.”
