Chipping her way to success

Priest River High senior Paityn Yount lines up a chip shot at the 3A State Golf Championship, which was held Monday and Tuesday at the River's Edge Golf Club in Burley. Yount fired rounds of 101 and 98 for a total gross of 199, which put her tied for 11th amongst a 65-man field. Her 11th place finish is 43 spots better than her tied for 54th-place finish at state a year ago, where she shot rounds of 122 and 126 — that's a 49-stroke improvement in just one year.
