Kalispell man accused of drawing handgun in skatepark dustup

A Kalispell man accused of pulling a gun during fistfight near the Woodland Park skatepark earlier this month is facing a felony assault with a weapon charge in Flathead County District Court.
Kalispell Police officers arrested Sean Erik Gibb, 31, on May 1 after an apparent case of road rage culminated in the fracas in the public park.
One of the victims told authorities that they were traveling on U.S. 2 when the driver of a tan Toyota -- later identified as Gibb -- brake checked him, according to court documents. Arriving at the skatepark shortly before 6 p.m., the victim was sitting with several friends when the Toyota pulled in and Gibb hopped out.
With what looked like a green and black Glock gun on his waistband, Gibb allegedly began yelling at the victim. A friend intervened and Gibb shoved him, court documents said. During the dustup, the friend landed a blow and Gibb allegedly drew the gun. Several people jumped Gibb at that point, preventing him from pulling the trigger, court documents said.
Gibb left the park soon after. Another onlooker, though, grabbed the license plate information for the Toyota.
Officers tracked Gibb down to his Fourth Avenue North West home within 30 minutes. Gibb sported a cut lip, as if fresh from a fight, and officers spotted an open leather pistol case on the passenger side floorboard of the Toyota, court documents said.
Gibb declined to answer questions and refused to consent to a search of the Toyota, according to court documents.
After arresting Gibb, officers secured a search warrant for his home and vehicle. Investigators found a green and black Glock handgun in the home along with a homemade suppressor, according to court documents.
If convicted, Gibb faces up to 20 years in Montana State Prison and a $50,000 fine.
