Moon Pass open with restrictions
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 year, 3 months AGO
WALLACE — Moon Pass is open for the season, but there are a few additional rules for those driving it.
Shoshone County Public Works Director Jessica Stutzke said crews are still working on the slope stabilization project from last year’s rockslide. This includes additional rock scaling, drilling, bolting and site cleanup.
While the work is expected to wrap up by the end of June, Shoshone County officials wanted to make sure people could still travel the pass during the late spring and early summer months.
According to Stutzke, the pass will be closed Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., including a hard closure of the roadway between Bullion and the top of Moon Pass.
Engineering firms GeoEngineers and HMH Engineering are collaborating on the project, which is being funded through state and federal emergency dollars.
