STATE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS TOURNAMENTS: Coeur d'Alene's Judson powers way into state 6A boys singles semifinals

Coeur d'Alene senior Connor Judson, who has signed with Division III Whitworth University in Spokane, won twice by the score of 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the semifinals in boys singles at the boys state 6A tennis tournament at the Appleton Tennis Center in Boise.

Judson will face Zachary Bessey of Mountain View in the semifinals today. Bessey upset top-seeded Cody Christensen of Highland 6-1, 6-1 in the opening round.

Coeur d'Alene's mixed doubles team of senior Cailtin Combes and sophomore Grant Johnson advanced to the finals where they will face Colton Symes and Riann Osborne of Eagle.

Coeur d'Alene Charter seniors Tate Burkholder and Owen Sharp beat Trevor Mann and Nathan Compas of Parma to advance to the semifinals of the state 4A tournament at Ridgevue High in Nampa.

Burkholder and Sharp will face Kolin Cook and Diego Delgadillo of Weiser in the semifinals today.
