Eureka teams 7th at Western B track

MISSOULA — Missoula Loyola kicked it in gear and Eureka fell off the pace Saturday at the Western B Divisional track and field meet at MCPS Stadium.
Loyola’s Rams rolled up 143 points to 100 for Florence and 61 for Darby. Eureka and Plains tied for seventh with 30 points.
The Breakers won the girls title with 117 points. Superior (74) and Florence (72.5) rounded out the top three. Plains was fourth at 62; Eureka, third at the end of Friday’s action, ended up seventh with 40.5.
Superior’s Trizten Avila swept all three sprints to highlight the boys meet. Loyola’s Nolan Lee, Braden McGuirl and Owen Oliver went 1-2-3 in the 110 hurdles and Lee and Oliver went 1-2 in the 300s.
Mission’s Harlon Leishman won the 3,200 with a personal record time of 10:09.67.
Eureka’s boys scored nine points Saturday, eight of it coming from their long relay — Cole Sartori, Timothy Schmidt, Emmett Manges and Josh Lambertsen — that finished second to Darby.
The Lady Lions scored 10.5 points Saturday, including a fourth-place finish in the long relay and a third place from Zoey Hanson in the shot put/discus.
The Breakers saw sophomore Sophia Berry win the 100 meters, the 400 and 100-meter hurdles while another sophomore, Allison Gama, swept the long and triple jumps.
