ATHOL — The newly remodeled Farragut State Park Museum at the Brig is opening its doors this Friday.
Staff are excited to once again welcome museum visitors with new exhibits, renovations and a new roof.
The Brig is one of the few structures that remain from the Farragut Naval Training Station, which was a major training base for the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Almost 300,000 naval recruits received basic training from the Farragut Training Station.
Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Friday, May 23, through Labor Day at 13550 E. Highway 54, Athol.
