A Lakers sweep two against Havre

Jayce Wheeler drove in three runs and scored a run as the A Lakers won game one over the Havre Northstars 6-4 before downing them in the nightcap 11-9 in American Legion baseball Sunday. 


Kalispell (9-8) scored three runs each in the second and fourth innings and rode a strong outing from Mason Lewis who shut down any comeback attempt. After starter Beau McEwen allowed five hits and three earned runs, Lewis pitched the final four innings allowing three hits and no earned runs. 


George Schwan went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Lakers. Jake Hale scored and drove in a run. 


Chason Mader led the Northstars (3-4), with a run scored and two RBIs. Colter Solomon took the loss after going 5 2-3 innings with six runs; all of them earned on six hits, striking out two. 


Kalispell 11, Havre 9

After being down 3-1 after two innings, the Lakers plated five runs in the second and third inning to propel them for a win and complete the two-game sweep over the Northstars. 


Dillon Wink set the tone at the top of the lineup for the Lakers, collecting two hits and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot. Tait Orme and Carter Winnington each drove in a pair of runs, Beau Schultz walked three times, coming around to score each time. 


Jake Hale earned the win for Kalispell after coming in relief of Max Schara, going five innings with five hits allowed and two earned runs, walking four. 


Tyson Brandon drove in two for the Northstars, with one hit and scored a run. Teegan Solomon took the loss after coming in relief, pitching 3 2-3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out five.
