AA Lakers race past Mission Valley

POLSON — The Kalispell AA Lakers rode triples from Ostyn Brennan and Reggie Sapa to down Mission Valley 13-1 Tuesday. 

The Lakers got rolling in the third inning as Carter Schlegel drove in a pair of runs on a double to center to give Kalispell a 3-0 lead.  

Kalispell extended the lead to 9-1 in the fourth as Brennan reached on an error and brough in two runs. Next batter, Luke Nikunen, also reached on an error bringing in Sapa and Brennan. 

Sapa and Brennan used back-to-back triples in the sixth inning to make it 10-1. 

Teagan Dixon capped off the evening with an RBI double in the seventh, growing the lead to 13-1. 

On the mound, Jackson Heino went five innings strong, allowing three hits and one run. He struck out four. Andre Cephers threw two shutout innings in relief, allowing one hit. He fanned four. 

Cole Wadsworth went five innings for the Mariners, striking out three. Landon Pablo threw two innings in relief. 

Wyatt Wadsworth drove in the lone run for Mission Valley on a third inning single to center, bringing in Landon Shoemake.
