ALL-LEAGUE BASEBALL: Four Spartans receive honors

ALL-LEAGUE: Jacob Best

A freshman right-handed pitcher, Jacob tallied a team-high 59 strikeouts and a team-best 4.57 ERA across 38.1 innings this season, holding opponents to a .217 batting average. He had a season-high seven innings pitched against St. Maries on May 1... a season-high 13 strikeouts against Newport on April 10... added a 9-strikeout performance against Kellogg on April 14 and two 8-strikeout performances against Riverside on April 5 and against Grangeville on April 19. At the plate, he contributed six hits, three RBI, seven runs scored and 10 stolen bases across 47 plate appearances against varsity opponents.

ALL-LEAGUE: Layton Goins

A freshman outfielder and first baseman, Layton recorded a team-best .385 batting average and a .429 on-base percentage to go along with a team-high 20 hits, including a double, six RBI, eight runs scored and 11 stolen bases across 56 plate appearances against varsity opponents this season. He had a tied for season-high two hits in seven different games... an RBI in six different games... a season-high two runs scored against Grangeville on April 18... and a season-high three stolen bases against St. Maries on March 14.

ALL-LEAGUE: Colton Kuprienko

A sophomore catcher, Colton registered a .372 batting average and a team-best .526 on-base percentage to go along with 16 hits, including four doubles and a home run, six RBI, a team-high 11 runs scored and 11 stolen bases across 57 plate appearances against varsity opponents this season. He had a season-high three hits against St. Maries on March 14... an RBI in six different games... a tied for season-high two runs against Kellogg on April 14 and against St. Maries on May 1... and a season-high two stolen bases against Kellogg on April 3.

ALL-LEAGUE: Logan Troumbley

A junior second baseman and pitcher, Logan posted a .260 batting average and .321 on-base percentage to go along with 14 hits, including four doubles, six RBI, four runs scored and five stolen bases across 54 plate appearances against varsity opponents this season. He had a season-high two hits in four different games... a season-high three RBI against St. Maries on May 1... a season-high two runs scored against St. Maries on March 27... and a tied for season-high two stolen bases against St. Maries on March 14 and against St. Maries on March 27. On the mound, he produced 22 strikeouts and a 4.90 ERA across 20 innings of work. He had a season-high 4.1 innings pitched and a season-high seven strikeouts against Grangeville on April 18.
