Amelia Pleger, 67
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 months, 4 weeks AGO
Amelia Mary Pleger passed away peacefully at home in the company of her loved ones Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in Rathdrum, Idaho, at the age of 67.
Amelia was born Nov. 26, 1957, in Olds, Alberta, Canada, and moved to North Idaho at a very young age. Coeur d’Alene quickly became the home where Amelia found her love of playing softball and riding her motorcycle. Amelia married her husband, Floyd, in September 1974. For the first four years of their marriage, Floyd was in the Navy, so they moved around a bit before coming back to Coeur d’Alene. Amelia was first and foremost a homemaker and loved spending time with her growing family. She had three children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she referred to as the light of her life. She loved camping with her family at Marble Creek. Over the last 20 years, Amelia took to experimenting with recipes she found on TV. Her best recipe was her lasagna. When she wasn’t cooking, Amelia liked to cruise around town in her ruby-red 2018 Camaro SS.
Amelia is survived by her mother, Sharen Eilers, her sister, Anita Graves, and brother Eric Eilers, her husband, Floyd Pleger, her son, Mark (Spokane Valley), and daughters Jessica (Spokane) and Karlie (L.A.), and her grandchildren, Porter, Logan, Isaac, Forest, Christopher, Joshua and Amelia. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren.
Amelia is preceded in death by her father, B.B. Eilers.
A celebration of life will be held at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, on Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. Please view and sign Amelia's online guestbook at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
