Judy Mae Bethel, 86, of Liberty Lake, Wash., died peacefully May 13, 2025, at her home. Judy was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Spokane, Wash., to Harry and Neldra V. (Powell) Christopherson.
She grew up in Liberty Lake. For the last 25 years, she has lived in the house her parents built. She married Brian J. Bethel on Jan. 7, 1954, at The Hitching Post in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Judy worked as a waitress at Harris Casino, located on the Nevada-California state line.
Judy loved to read, garden, do word finds, and put together puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Brian, who died in 1998.
Judy is survived by her sons: Rick J. Bethel, Christopher W. Bethel, Michael D. Bethel and Bradly D. Bethel; and one daughter, Tina L. Bethel.
