Patricia “Patty” Kay Carter, 76, of Hayden Lake, Idaho, passed away peacefully May 18, 2025, at Hospice of North Idaho. Born on July 6, 1948, in Colfax, Wash., Patty moved to Coeur d’Alene at the age of 4, embracing the spirit of North Idaho.

Patty lived vibrantly, working at Coeur d’Alene Honda and as a cherished hostess at the Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley, where her smile welcomed all. A free spirit, she loved country music, dancing, snowmobiling, traveling, casino nights and lunches with friends. Her fur baby, Reina, was her constant companion.

She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne K. Lopez (Richard); siblings Barbara, Steve, Robert, Dave, Scott and Kathleen; grandchildren Renée Humphrey (Seth), Coty Howell (fiancée Mariah Terry) and Brandon Howell (Jamie); and great-grandchildren Ryder Howell, Zaydin Howell, Zaylee Howell, Maylee Howell, Madison Flohr and Philly Flohr. One of seven children, she joins her husband, Al Carter, and beloved dog, Sir Walter, in heaven.

A celebration of life will be held at Elks Lodge No. 1254, 1170 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Companions Animal Center, 10275 N.
