Rite Aid in Coeur d’Alene and Hayden are among store locations set to close next month as part of the company’s bankruptcy proceedings, according to documents filed in federal bankruptcy court Friday.

The Hayden location, located in the Prairie Shopping Center, will close its pharmacy June 11, with the front end of the store set to close on or around June 18, a spokesperson for the location told The Press.

Customers with prescriptions at the Hayden Rite Aid will automatically have their prescriptions transferred to Safeway Pharmacy, also inside Prairie Shopping Center, the spokesperson added.

“We are truly grateful for your continued support, kindness, and loyalty over the years, especially the last two years,” the managerial team said in a statement to customers. “You’ve made this journey meaningful, and we will miss you.”

Closing dates for the Coeur d’Alene location on West Ironwood Drive have not yet been announced.

The company had already closed several stores in southern Idaho since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2023, the Idaho Statesman reported Wednesday.

Court documents show that Rite Aid has received approval to close about 150 additional stores nationwide.

Other Idaho locations listed in the closure documents included stores in Moscow, McCall and Caldwell.

Rite Aid’s website also states that affected stores no longer issue Rite Aid Rewards points for qualifying purchases as of May 6 and will no longer honor Rite Aid gift cards or accept any returns or exchanges starting June 5.

The pharmacy chain currently operates 1,239 stores nationwide — down from the 2,452 stores it had about a year before filing for bankruptcy, the Statesman reported.
