Scholarship Winners Announced at 2025 Distinguished Young Women Program

Jane Moellmer has been named the community’s Distinguished Young Woman of Bonners Ferry 2025. 

Moellmer was selected for the honor on April 26 when the community gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of local BFHS students at the annual Distinguished Young Women program. The scholarship program recognizes academic excellence, leadership, and talent among young women in Bonners Ferry. 

The 2025 program culminated in a night of inspiration and celebration as participants showcased their poise, passion, and commitment to the core values of the DYW program. Scholarships totaling over $12,000 were awarded in multiple categories. 

In being named the community’s Distinguished Young Woman of Bonners Ferry 2025, Moellmer earned a $2,600 scholarship and an additional $1,000 for the Scholastics award in recognition of her academic excellence. She will go on to represent Bonners Ferry at the Idaho State DYW program in Idaho Falls on Oct. 3-4. 

Paige Sartell was named first finalist, receiving a $1,950 scholarship. She also earned honors in the Fitness and Scholastics categories, receiving scholarships valued at $850 and $1,000 respectively. 

AdleeMae Robles was named second finalist, receiving a $1,500 scholarship. She also stood out in several individual categories, winning honors in the Talent, Self-Expression, and Interview categories for a combined total of $2,700 in scholarships.  

Ellora Caplinger received the Spirit of DYW award, an $850 scholarship, and Celynn Chaney was honored with the Be Your Best Self award, also an $850 scholarship. 

The Distinguished Young Women program continues to encourage personal growth and confidence in young women while providing valuable scholarship opportunities. This year’s participants impressed both the judges and the audience with their intelligence, character, and enthusiasm.
