ASHLAND, Ore. — Kaden Huot threw his fifth touchdown pass, then completed a two-point PAT pass with 56 seconds left to give No. 8 Carroll College a wild 41-40 win over Southern Oregon in Frontier Conference football Saturday.

Huot, who was 18 of 31 passing for 269 yards, hit Carson Ochoa for 14 yards and the touchdown, then found Gavin Vandenacre on the conversion to cap a 42-yard drive that took 43 seconds.

It was set up by a 50-yard kickoff return from Glacier High product Connor Sullivan; Southern Oregon had just scored on Trevor Jaasko’s 46-yard return of an attempted onside kick by the Saints with 1:48 left in the game.

It was Vandenacre who caught the other touchdown, a 4-yarder that cut the gap to 34-33 with 1:55 remaining. When Spencer Berger missed the ensuing PAT kick, Carroll tried the onside.

The Raiders’ Brian Batres then missed the PAT after Jaasko’s TD; that left the Saints (7-1 overall, 4-0 in the West Division) down 40-33.
