Whitefish spikes Ronan for spot at Western A

WHITEFISH — Camry Kelch had 11 nine kills, two blocks, eight digs and two aces as Whitefish made short work of Ronan Saturday in a Western A volleyball play-in game.

The victory, coupled with a 25-6, 25-18, 25-5 win over Browning on Thursday, moves the Bulldogs into the Western A Divisional that starts Thursday in Libby as the No. 4 seed out of the Northwest. They’ll face Frenchtown, the top seed out of the Southwest A, in the first round at noon. 

“Whitefish came ready to play today,” Bulldogs coach Addy Connolly said. “Allie Shors mixed up the sets today, getting all hitters opportunities to put the ball away. Annabelle Barrile started us out in game one with a huge run of serves to get the momentum going.  

“Freshman Avery Orme is finding a comfortable rhythm in the middle and taking care of business.” 

Orme had six kills. Shors had 26 assists. Sol Holmquist filled up the stat sheet with four kills, three blocks, two digs and an ace. Barrile had one ace and four kills.
