Idaho State sweeps Big Sky football awards

FARMINGTON, Utah — Fresh off their 38-36 win over then-No. 6 UC Davis, the Idaho State Bengals swept the weekly awards from the Big Sky Conference on Monday.
Running back Dason Brooks, linebacker Nathan Reynolds and place-kicker Trajan Sinatra got the awards on offense, defense and special teams.
Brooks, a junior out of Chandler, Ariz., rushed for 219 yards against Davis, including touchdowns of 17 and 59 yards, while winning the award for a second time. He is the first Bengal to break the 200-yard mark since 2017; his game total sits sixth at ISU all-time.
Reynolds, a junior out of Meridian, Idaho., had seven tackles and picked off UC Davis quarterback Caden Pinnick to seal the Bengals’ first win over a top-10 team since 2021.
It is the first such award Reynolds but Monday marked the fourth this season for Sinatra. The senior out of San Jose hit the game-winning 50-yard field goal with 52 seconds left. He scored 11 of Idaho State’s 38 points.
Others nominated for the award included UM’s Keali’i Ah Yat and MSU’s Justin Lamson on offense, UM”s Clay Oven on defense and UM”s Tanner Huff on special teams.
