The 4 Saxes to Perform at the Boundary County Library

The 4 Saxes, a quartet of four saxophone players, will present a free concert titled “Serious Sax” at noon on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Boundary County Library. 

The group includes Deni Zwang on soprano sax and lead sax, Brenda Nagod on alto sax, Cindy Horton on tenor sax, and Jeff McLagan on baritone sax. 

The 4 Saxes have performed throughout the region at venues including the Heartwood Center, the BCH Festival of Trees Gala Dinner, Kootenai River Brewing Co., Rathdrum Days, Evans Brothers Coffee, and the Monarch Coffee House. 

The quartet performs an eclectic mix of music ranging from classical to jazz, polkas to pop, folk to swing, and everything in between. 

The “Serious Sax” concert will feature musical works written specifically for saxophone quartets, including one composed by a pacific northwest musician especially for The 4 Saxes. The program will also include information about the history of the saxophone and the composers whose works are being performed. 

The concert is suitable for all ages, from young to old, who enjoy listening and learning about music.
