More recently, Priest River, which finished their season with a record of 17-5, competed at the 3A State Championship tournament held Oct. 30 through Nov. 1 at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls. The No. 4 Lady Spartans advanced to the semifinals with a 3-1 defeat of No. 5 Nampa Christian (28-26, 25-23, 15-25, 25-17) before falling to No. 1 Ambrose, the eventual state champions (25-8, 25-13, 25-15), and No. 3 Malad (25-15, 25-18, 25-21) in a pair of day two matchups.
