Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale will celebrate the captivating nature of music in two upcoming concerts — The Poetry of Meaning: Glacier Chorale in Concert and Romantic Cathedral, featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Anna Shelest.

The Poetry of Meaning: Glacier Chorale in Concert on Nov. 8 will explore the question, “Can music truly convey meaning?” Through a curated selection of beautiful choral pieces, conductor Micah Hunter and chorale members will demonstrate how meaning is intrinsically linked to the poetic spirit and elevated through the art of music. In celebration of Flathead Valley students and the written word, the Glacier Symphony will also recognize winners of its recent poetry contest.

On Nov. 15, the Glacier Symphony will perform alongside Shelest at the Romantic Cathedral concert. She will be featured in two exciting works for piano and orchestra by Clara Schumann and Cécile Chaminade, two historically significant female composers. This evening of Romantic period works will be concluded by Brahms Symphony No. 3 in F major, which has been said to “envelope and soar like a Romantic Cathedral.”

The concerts start at 7:30 p.m. at the Wachholz College Center, 795 Grandview Dr., Kalispell.

Tickets are $74 for adults, $25 for students (13 and up), $15 for children (under 13) and free for children 12 and under. Prices include service fees. Tickets may be purchased online at glaciersymphony.org.
