MISSOULA — The Glacier Wolfpack volleyball team is bound for State.
Marlo Carpenter had 16 kills, Allie Krueger added nine and the Wolfpack beat Missoula Big Sky in straight sets in a State AA play-in game Wednesday at the Big Sky gym.
Avaieh Thomas added another five kills to the Wolfpack’s 25-21, 25-22, 25-16 win.
Glacier had split with Big Sky during the regular season on the way to a 5-9 finish in Western AA matches; that left the Pack as the No. 5 seed and having to travel to No. 4 Big Sky.
Chloe Farrell had four blocks to lead a nice night (7 total blocks) at the net for the Pack. Addison Thramer checked in with 17 digs and two aces, and Zellow Boels had 16 digs.
Madi Stevens had 30 set assists.
Glacier, 8-18 overall, is either the Western AA’s third or fourth seed into State; it depends on how Flathead fares Thursday. The Bravettes play at Helena at 6 p.m.
It will be the third straight trip to Bozeman’s Breeden Field House for the Wolfpack; coach Jaimie Nelson felt the win was the byproduct of playing together.
“We aren’t focused on the outcome,” Nelson said. “We’re focused on one play at a time. One goal, be a team.”
The all-class State Tournament begins Nov. 12 in Bozeman.
