Irma 'Carol' Harsin, 99

Irma “Carol” Harsin, 99, passed away at Living Springs Assisted Living in Post Falls, Idaho, on Oct. 28, 2025. Carol was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Two Buttes, Colo., to James Marshall and Lillian Caroline (Hawkins) Weidman.

Carol was raised in Central Point, Ore. It was in Central Point that she graduated from high school. She married Dewey Virgil Rikard (who is now deceased) on May 11, 1945, in Central Point. She then married Paul L. Harsin in Medford, Ore. (who is now deceased).

She was a Title Officer for Panhandle Title Company and Hope Realty, as well as a legal secretary for Herb Sanderson, the attorney in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, from 1972 to 1988.

Carol lived in Las Vegas, Nev., for several years, then moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho, to a farm from 1974 until 1998. She moved to Leisure Park in Hayden, Idaho, where she lived until 2021. Carol lived at North Star Retirement for three years and has been living at Living Springs Assisted Living in Post Falls for the last six months.

She enjoyed gardening, RV travel, donating her time to the Women’s Center in Coeur d’Alene, her friends in the Rimrock Ladies Social Club, antiquing and working with her daughter, Caroline, on estate sales, as well as her once-in-a-lifetime trip to China. What she loved most of all were her visits with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so proud of all of her family.

Carol is survived by her son and his wife, Michael and Julia Rikard of Las Vegas, Nev.; her daughter and her husband, Caroline and Allan Friesen of Post Falls, Idaho; her daughter, Peggy Ann Gale of Sandpoint, Idaho; her son and his wife, Brian and Sally Rikard of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
