Seattle woman sentenced for high-speed chase

A Seattle woman who led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit for roughly 20 miles, had the imposition of sentencing deferred for a total of six years. The term was handed down in District Court in Polson on Oct. 30.
Diamond Rochelle Nabors, 34, entered a plea of guilty in District Court in Polson on Sept. 11, to felony charges of burglary and criminal endangerment. The plea was entered as part of an agreement that dismisses two misdemeanor charges.
According to court records, on July 14, a man reported that he arrived at his Arlee residence to find the door kicked in. Items in the home were strewn about and or damaged, including a flat screen TV. The man had just returned home from the Lake County Courthouse where he was obtaining an order of protection against Nabors, the mother of their children.
As law enforcement officers were at the man’s residence taking his report, a child protective services worker called the man to report Nabors was allegedly making threats against him.
The charging documents indicate the Nabors was “operating under the delusional belief” that the CPS worker was in an inappropriate relationship with the children’s father.
Law enforcement located Nabors in her gold Toyota Highlander in the Arlee area. Nabors refused to exit the Toyota, and instead, drove south on U. S. Hwy 93, making dangerous passes. The pursuit continued south into Missoula County, where authorities there joined in the pursuit. Nabors turned east onto Interstate 90.
Officers were able to disable the Toyota with spike strips as it approached Reserve Street in Missoula and Nabors was placed under arrest.
The charging documents indicate that Nabors passed 36 vehicles that were also traveling south, and 82 vehicles that were northbound with speeds exceeding 100 MPH.
Judge John A Mercer gave Nabors credit for having served 108 days in jail and released her from custody.
